2014 timetable

The printers proof for next years timetable has been signed off. 350,000 copies are now being printed and hopefully will be available within 2 to 3 weeks. And Steve George has now got this also up on our website.

  1. Steve needs to take a look as some of the timetables online haven't come out as I expect he intended.

  2. mistake spotted already, trains will be running on the 1st of January 2014, the 2014 timetable says otherwise - unless that service has been cancelled...

  3. You know what is really great and heart-warming? Putting in a not inconsiderable about on time into something associated with this railway and the only responses you get are nit-picking and negative.

The timetable and events page for the new year is always a work in progress for a few weeks and I'm sure tweaks and changes will continue to be made.

As always those who would prefer to do the job are invited to apply.

  4. Sorry Steve, rereading my comment it is rather harsh, I really didn't mean to offend, as ever my tone is lost in the internet, good job on the rest of it :D

  5. Hi Steve, Thanks for taking the time to upload the 2014 timetable so promptly and to the planners for producing it. I am sure that 2014 will be even better year than 2013 for the GWR.
Just a couple of things that need clarification please: will there be a blue timetable on Sat 22nd March, and on the events page will the Halloween event be on Thursday 30th October?
    Thanks again.

  6. Steve - apologies it was meant to alert you to what was clearly very wrong, (and indeed completely meaningless) in the expectation that you would wish to know as soon as possible and correct it. I also emailed you via the webmaster address, in case you picked that up earlier.

  7. Thanks for all the comments.
I appreciate that there are mistakes in the first cut of the timetable on line but this is to be expected when Steve needs to enter over 170 separate items plus train times etc. And all within a very short perios of time.
I don't think anyone would get it 100% right first time. The reason for getting something on line now is only for the benefit of the public at this time so they can see what plans we have for next year.
Members of the Commercial Department have already been through the details and a number of changes have been notified to Steve and will be made in the coming few days. Remember of course this timetable doesn't take effect until next March so I don't think there is any rush on this..
Our printed and on line timetable for 2013 covers the whole season which therefore includes January 1st 2014. Our new 2014 timetable will contain reference to January 1st 2015 which will be the same as on our newly printed timetable.
A full list of special events will be available on line in a few days time and the halloween event will be Thursday October 30th.
